POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team providing the full range of social work services to individuals at Valley Ridge Center for Intensive Treatment. Required to handle complex issues and to exercise a high level of independent professional judgment throughout the course of activities. May also be required to supervise and train subordinate staff. Perform other duties as assigned.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The person in this position will perform the full range of social work activities as authorized under the scope of practice of a licensed master social worker. Activities include assessing individual's needs, strengths, and limitations; developing psychosocial assessments; providing individual and group therapy and crisis intervention; documenting changes in clinical condition; serving as a resource to the team regarding social adjustment and service needs; maintaining progress notes; presenting and training clinical, direct care, and paraprofessional staff as assigned; performing other duties as assigned including participation in work groups and committees.

From $67897 to $86140 Annually
Minimum Qualification
As of February 26, 2022, all OPWDD employees assigned to the Valley Ridge CIT must have received the primary COVID 19 vaccination series (Pfizer or Moderna) or the single shot vaccination (Johnson & Johnson). Booster shots are not required. There is no testing option for employees assigned to this location in lieu of vaccination. MINIMUM

Current or previous one-year permanent service as a Licensed Master Social Worker 1. OR Candidates must be reachable on the Civil Service List for this title; OR be a NY State Employee eligible to transfer via 70.1 of the Civil Service Law with one year of permanent service in the qualifying title. If you are qualified for transfer, please include your Social Security Number for service verification and transfer eligibility determination purposes. Per Civil Service guidelines, should the Civil Service canvass result in less than 3 acceptors, provisional candidates may be considered. For Provisional Appointment:
Candidate must be Licensed and currently registered by New York State as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and have one year of post-licensure professional social work experience. or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Registration and licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor are not considered qualifying for this examination. Professional social work experience involves activities such as screening, assessing, and diagnosing individuals' and families' psychosocial needs, strengths, and limitations; participating in the development of treatment plans and discharge plans; counseling and educating individuals, groups, and families to promote mental, emotional, physical, and social functioning; helping access needed services and support systems. Experience limited to social work research or social work administration is NOT considered qualifyingEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
