LPN Licensed Practical Nurse 2 - Broome
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The person in this position will be involved in the treatment of individuals. They would administer medications; perform tube feedings; provide colostomy care; observe individuals and report changes in their condition; perform other procedures as ordered by a physician etc. They will prepare and apply simple dressings; assist individuals with bathing and feeding; and care for individuals and their residences by performing such tasks as making beds, changing linen, and caring for the assigned worksite. They will work alongside other Direct Support Professionals. Their degree of experience and expertise allows for participation in the development of plans, and for supervision of staff. T
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
o Function in the role of a Sr Licensed Practical Nurse 2 (or Sr LPN1), including supervisory duties as assigned. o Function as Direct Support staff in providing support, including nursing to individuals within the SOIRA. o Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
o Candidates must be currently in title, eligible for 70.1 transfer or reachable on eligible list. o Candidates eligible for provisional appointment must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position. o Sr. LPN1:
You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position. For qualified employees of New York State on or before the date of the examination you must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Licensed Practical Nurse. o Sr. LPN2:
You must take and pass a Civil Service examination in order to be considered for this position. A license to practice as a Practical Nurse in New York State and one year of permanent competitive service as a Senior Licensed Practical Nurse 1. o Appointment may be made to the lower grade with advancement to the higher grade after completion of one year of permanent competitive service at the lower grade.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
